Position: Regional Program Director (Senior Staff Associate)
Organization: Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health
Location: New York

The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is seeking an experienced international public health professional who will provide oversight and leadership for ICAP supported programs focused on HIV and related conditions in several countries in Eastern Africa. Working closely with the Senior Director of Implementation, Country Directors and in-country teams and other members of ICAP senior staff, the Regional Program Director will support the country programs to achieve program goals, objectives, and targets.

Minimum Qualifications:

International health or public health development or management experience is required; HIV/AIDS programmatic experience is desirable.
Experience supervising staff; demonstrated ability to motivate staff and build effective teams.
Experience developing progress reports, work plans and budgets.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
Exceptional writing and oral communication skills.
Experience overseeing the development of successful funding proposal.
Ability to use Word and PowerPoint to develop documents/presentations and Excel for moderately complex spreadsheets.
Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the complex political and social issues related to HIV/AIDS in resource-limited settings as well as the health services structures within these settings.
Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, donors, sub-contractors and other partners in a fast-paced work environment.
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Experience with epidemiological data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher in public health, medicine, nursing, or related field, plus 4-7 years of experience with HIV/AIDS programs, international health, or development programs. Experience working with USG donor agencies and familiarity with USG grantee policies rules and regulations is desirable.
Experience designing, managing and/or implementing HIV/AIDS programs.
Fluency in French and/or Portuguese.
