Compensation: Salary range: $80-100k, plus 10+ % Annual Bonus, plus Excellent Benefits.

Stable, exciting non profit with 11 years consistent success is expanding into the Midwest US. Our client is a science, research and education non profit with annual operating budget of approximately $8m. Our client has 55 employees and is in a period of high, controlled growth.

We seek a Senior Development Officer with at least 6 years of full time, professional fundraising experience in the Chicago Area. In addition to a 4 year degree, we are looking for development professionals who have acquired strong experience in the areas of individual and major gifts, corporate sponsorships and foundation relations.

Also required are the advanced writing (Development Plans, LOI's, Stewardship, newsletters, email campaigns) and communications (Professional Public Speaking engagements before small and larger groups requiring Power Point Presentations) skills to be successful in this position.

We can only consider highly refined and professional candidates with career records showing consistent and stable employment and the accomplishment of significant goals which have increased over time. We can also only consider Chicago area residents who have current corporate and community contacts at the highest levels.

This position will be responsible for raising $500k in the first calendar year of employment. Sources of funds can be individual, corporate, foundation and any combination. Midwest area has been covered remotely and will now become a permanent / major area for our client. Although there is prospect activity (personal, corporate and foundation), which will help you get started in the Midwest territory, the high emphasis in this position is in new prospects and new gifts.

This is a remote or work from home office position with expense reimbursement in all areas including auto, administrative and travel. This position will require quarterly travel to headquarters in southern California plus an initial orientation period there. Although this position offers great freedom to manage the Midwest territory, there will be the formal oversight and reporting/planning of a professionally structured and deeply focused organization. Part of your work will be to assemble and convene an impressive Advisory Council to advance your cause and success.

Candidates with experience creating Territory Development Plans or Annual Development Plans will be seen as highly desirable, and writing samples are required.
