GRANTS MANAGER

The Center for Democracy & Technology is seeking a Grants Manager. The job offers an exciting opportunity to support the growth of the organization by matching funding opportunities to key policy areas.

THE POSITION:
The Grants Manager position involves a broad mix of responsibilities, from the administrative to the substantive. Under supervision, the Grants Manager will:
·Administer the CDT grants program, which includes all planning, budgeting, reporting processes and report coordination;
·Originate grant proposals, providing substantive input and working with team members on key fulfillment initiatives;
·Proofread, edit and provide constructive feedback to team members on proposals, reports, and letters of intent;
·Work with program and administrative staff to ensure that grant agreements are fulfilled in a timely manner;
·Process approved grants, and work with administrative staff to prepare grantor acknowledgement;
·Maintain paper files to complete hard copy documentation for all grant correspondence;
·Research current and prospective donors;
·Manage calendar of institutional donors to ensure timely grant submissions and reporting;
·Manage donor profile and lists;
·Track pending and committed income;
·Manage relationships with grant officers at funding institutions and maintain accurate and timely records of donor interaction using Salesforce;
·Act as a liaison for all grants-related correspondence, supporting key staff members in their communications with grantors;
·Support organization-wide development initiatives; and
·Contribute to the overall CDT fundraising portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Grants Manager is a mid-level professional position, designed for professionals with experience in successful grant writing and fundraising. An ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:
·3+ years experience demonstrated success in grant writing and management;
·Proven superior writing skills with a concise, clear and compelling style;
·Ability to manage all aspects of proposal development process from conceptualization to submission;
·Knowledge of foundation and corporate grant process, funding sources and non-profit fundraising principles;
·Strong research skills;
·Quick learner with ability to work in an entrepreneurial manner and thrive under multiple deadlines and objectives;
·Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner;
·Superior planning and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and commitment to follow-through;
·Desire to work as part of a team: and
·Knowledge of and interest in Internet technology policy a plus;

Salary is commensurate with experience and is competitive with other non-profit organizations. CDT provides a generous benefits package that includes health care and dental coverage, a retirement plan, paid vacation, sick days and parental leave.
