DIRECTOR OF CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS
Concord, CA - Administration

Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo (PPSD) is the nation's 13th largest Planned Parenthood affiliate, serving more than 100,000 women, men and youth annually with high quality reproductive health care services and comprehensive sex education. PPSD is a powerful advocate at the local, state and national level, working to protect access to affordable health care and to protect reproductive freedom. Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo is experiencing significant growth and is embarking upon a major capital campaign that will allow the organization to double the number of people served.

PPSD is currently seeking a full-time Director of Capital Campaigns. Essentially, the Director of Capital Campaigns has responsibility for day-to-day planning, coordination, and management of the Capital Campaign. This position is both strategic and tactical, working closely with both leadership volunteers and staff, reporting to the Vice President for Development. Additionally, as a member of the Development Department, this individual will develop relationships in the community that will lead to long term development of major, principal and planned gifts, and growth of the organization's annual fund. Salary is commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Working with the CEO, Vice President for Development and Capital Campaign Co-Chairs, set priorities and goals for the overall campaign.
2.Manage fundraising and communication efforts for the capital campaign.
3.Serve as the campaign liaison for volunteer committees; assist campaign leadership in recruitment and training of new committee members.
4.Serve as primary staff for capital campaign committees and support committee chairs in setting committee direction, agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up.
5.Prepare ongoing campaign updates for management, the Board of Directors, and volunteer committees.
6.Cultivate and solicit major campaign gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Manage a personal portfolio of up to 100 donors and prospects.
7.Develop solicitation strategies that may include multiple philanthropic vehicles and prepare staff and volunteers for donor solicitation.
8.Design and oversee cultivation events for prospects, including support of volunteers who host events.
9.Coordinate design and production of campaign collateral materials.
10.Manage the collection of campaign prospect information and work with Development Department staff to input and track appropriately in Raisers' Edge.
11.Prepare numerical analysis of campaign progress on an ongoing basis.
12.Develop and monitor campaign budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum five years experience in one or more of the following areas: capital campaign management, major gifts fundraising, or planned giving. Consideration will also be given to applicants with relevant experience in the for-profit sector, such as private banking, particularly if combined with volunteer fundraising/board experience.
2.Knowledge of the Contra Costa, Solano and Napa County philanthropic communities desired.
3.Superior writing and verbal communication skills; excellent public speaking skills.
4.Demonstrated success in motivating and responding to the needs of leadership volunteers and major donors prospects while demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and an outstanding commitment to customer service.
5.Experience in health care and political advocacy a plus.
6.Masters degree preferred.
7.CFRE desired.
8.Commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished professional with demonstrated success in developing and leveraging high impact relationships and managing complex projects with multiple levels of committee and volunteer involvement. This person is likely an experienced fundraising professional, though consideration will be given to those from outside the fundraising profession with applicable skills and experience. This is an externally focused position which may be based in Contra Costa, Napa or Solano County.
