Conservation International (CI) seeks candidates for the position of Vice President, Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF). Founded in 2000, the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund is a global leader in enabling civil society to participate in and benefit from conserving some of the world's most critical ecosystems. We provide grants for nongovernmental and private sector organizations to help protect Earth's most biologically rich yet threatened areas. Uniting six diverse institutions and governments under a single framework and purpose benefiting both people and nature, Conservation International, headquartered in Arlington, VA, serves as the Secretariat for the French Development Agency, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the World Bank. CEPF has committed more than $113 million in grants globally and enabled co-financing and leverage of nearly double this amount for conservation and sustainable development in some of the world's most critical ecosystems. The VP leads the design, development and implementation of all aspects of the CEPF Secretariat. The VP represents the Fund within CI and externally, generating and implementing sustainable funding strategies, managing donor relationships, setting standards for operational and financial management, hiring and developing key staff and ensuring that human and financial resources are aligned and maximized for the greatest mission impact. CI seeks an executive with an advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's), 10-15+ years of experience in environmental management, development, or a related business. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a complex set of programs and multicultural teams across multiple geographic areas. At least 5 years of working experience with bilateral and/or multilateral donors and record of successful fundraising, partnership development and program management.
