Development Director: Easter Seals Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. is a vital and growing organization located in New Haven, Connecticut. Its mission is to provide employment, educational, social and recreational services to people with disabilities and other challenges. Easter Seals Goodwill Industries was formed through a merger of three local organizations in 1969 and maintains an affiliation with two highly acclaimed national organizations, National Easter Seals, Inc. and Goodwill Industries International. Currently, over 800 individuals are served by the Agency annually, primarily through contracts with the State of Connecticut Departments of Developmental Services, Mental Health & Addiction Services and Corrections. In addition, the organization operates a multi-million dollar retail division through operation of Goodwill stores and donation centers. Goodwill stores not only provide a source of revenue for Agency programs but also serve as retail training facilities that provide employment and training for people with disabilities and other challenges. The Agency seeks an experienced development director. Position reports directly to the President. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead solicitation of major gifts; Develop, direct and coordinate donor cultivation and solicitation strategies; Assist in development of a case statement and marketing materials; Manage a substantial portfolio of major gift prospects, including corporate and foundation prospects; Maintain ongoing knowledge of business community, social and civic organizations, as well as other professional associations, including speaking engagements; Direct implementation of well-established annual fund-raising events through subordinate staff. Qualified candidate must have a bachelor's degree, minimum 5 years' experience including supervision, proven track-record of major gift solicitation, and strong communication skills including excellent writing skills. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and excellent benefit package including healthcare and dental insurance. Benefits include almost five weeks paid leave per year.
