Position: Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications
Organization: United States Fund for Unicef
Location: New York

Reporting to the USF President/CEO, the Senior Vice President, Marketing, and Communications is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of USF's marketing and branding campaigns, strategies and programs. This senior executive position is a member of the USF Senior Management Team and President's Cabinet and is responsible for directing the Public Relations, Communication and Creative Services, Greeting Cards, and Marketing groups in support of the organization's mission and goals.


Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

- Contributing to the overall mission of the USF: Education, Advocacy and Fundraising.
- Overseeing the creation of marketing programs and initiatives to increase the visibility of UNICEF, its good works and its need for financial support. This includes leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies to continue expanding the growth and reach of USF's "Believe in Zero" campaign.
- Providing direct support to the Senior Vice President of Development in fulfilling the role of chief fundraiser for the USF by planning, developing, and implementing creative, aggressive marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive annual strategic plans for the Division.
- Providing strategic leadership to key direct reports, and coordinating their activities into a unified approach.
- Directing and managing staff; setting clear goals and objectives with staff; monitoring their progress and providing evaluations of their performance; communicating and enforcing policies and guidelines established by the USF.
- Overseeing the Marketing Committee and managing Board support of marketing and communication activities
- Representing the USF at fundraising functions and special events, as well as in high level meetings with corporations and other organizations.

Qualifications:

- Masters degree and a minimum of ten years relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- A clear record of success in managing the process of generating significant revenue, and generating visibility for an organization.
- Superior interpersonal, presentation and communications skills that are effective with a range of audiences from donors to internal staff to the executives of major corporations.
- Direct experience with cause-related and direct marketing practices,
- Strong brand development and management skills. Experience creating and implementing a comprehensive brand development and marketing strategy.
- Ability to generate creative business development opportunities that leverage UNICEF.
- Outstanding leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Familiarity with the sales process and a range of sales channels.
- Expertise in integrated marketing program development: ability to create packages that include advertising and promotion, special events, logo merchandising, licensing arrangements, etc. Experience selling such packages to large corporations.
- A strong understanding of UNICEF's missions and goals, and sensitivity to the international and multicultural environment in which UNICEF and the USF works.
- Willingness to travel as required.
