DATABASE MANAGER

ORGANIZATION: The Actors Fund, a nonprofit human services organization founded in 1882, serves all professionals - and not just actors - in film, theater, television, music, opera, and dance through programs that address their unique and essential needs. As a national organization with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, The Fund directly serves more than 10,000 entertainment and performing arts professionals across the country, and approximately 600,000 more through Web resource programs. In providing care and service to professionals throughout the industry, The Fund's programs are wide in scope, responsive in nature, and produce significant results, affecting the lives of people in our community year after year.

DEPARTMENT: Advancement
REPORTS TO: Director of Development
LOCATION: New York, NY

SUPERVISES: Full-time Database Associate and part-time Data Entry Assistant, as well as volunteers and interns as required.
COORDINATES WITH: Chief Finance Officer and entire Advancement team as pertains to the databases.

PURPOSE of POSITION: The Database Manager will manage the full process of maintaining our Raiser's Edge and Patron's Edge Donor Databases, including policies, procedures, entry of gifts, donors, and volunteer information, and generation of reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Create, implement and monitor policies that assure accurate recording and security of all donor and volunteer data information;
-Develop processes and procedures to manage all data entry into the database, creating standards of entry;
-Manage all aspects of financial donors, as well as all relationship data entry, including the assignment of any required codes, the determination of data fields to be used, timely recording of gifts and volunteer activity in database, developing and implementing of procedures to detect data entry errors, reviewing and posting of all data;
-Develop reports and queries to pull required information; work closely with database users to pull requested information;
-Develop processes and procedures for reconciliations, de-duplications, and segmentations of the database;
-Coordinate and work with the Advancement and Finance departments on the utilization of the database, developing and pulling reports, and other requested information; assist and train users;
-Train database users on utilizing the database as a prospect management tool;
-Set up user access and security level to the Raiser's Edge and Patron's Edge database.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in a database management position of a non-profit organization;
2.Superior proficiency with Blackbaud software, including Raiser's Edge and Patron Edge;
3.Significant experience developing and implementing processes/procedures;
4.Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
5.Effective skills in time management, budgeting, and program oversight;
6.Outstanding interpersonal skills; must have credibility, good judgment, honesty, and integrity;
7.Managerial experience in performing arts/entertainment and/or human services preferred;
8.Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the entertainment industry;
9.Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
