Position: Development Professional
Organization: Alliance for Aging Research
Location: D.C.

Development Professional: the Alliance for Aging Research is seeking a Development Professional to lead and direct the organization's fundraising and development activities. Responsibilities include: direct and manage annual awards dinner, solicit financial support from corporations and foundations, manage all corporate solicitations and grant submissions, oversee and implement strategies that will grow annual revenue, write proposals and secure funding from corporate and foundation donors, lead strategies and research to identify, prioritize, cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward all donors and prospects, with a goal of building relationships in the health care community, perform responsibilities, including annual plans, budgets, reports, and evaluation and oversight of gift tracking systems. Successful candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree required

Minimum four years of fundraising experience, familiarity with healthcare sector especially helpful.

Demonstrated success in working as a member of a cohesive team and developing effective working relationships with volunteers, donors and staff

Excellent written/oral communication skills and experience in grant and proposal writing

Outstanding interpersonal and people skills. Adept at forming and maintaining relationships

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to set, maintain, and meet deadlines

Proven track record of success using a variety of strategies to secure funding and support for programs

Experience interacting and working with high-level contacts such as Board members

Must be willing to travel
