Position: Associate Director of Development, Planned Giving - UCLA

UCLA Development is seeking applications from experienced development professionals to serve as the new Associate Director of Development for Planned Giving. Reporting to the Executive Director, Campus-Wide Initiatives, the Associate Director of Development will qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward planned giving donors ($100,000+) to increase planned gifts to campus-wise programs. The Associate Director will also develop and execute short and long-term strategies to secure planned and major gifts from individuals in support of the University's mission and strategic plan. The successful candidate will serve as a resource to unit-based Directors of Development and other External Affairs staff working in a collaborative manner with development colleagues throughout UCLA to enhance the pool of planned and major donor prospects.

The successful candidate will have:
·Progressive responsibility and experience as a gift planning professional to include outright gifts, deferred gift arrangements and experience with a wide variety of assets such as real estate, securities, closely held stock and tangible personal property.
·Broad and thorough knowledge of the principles of tax encouraged philanthropy as well as the ability to assist development professionals across campus with regard to planned giving arrangements, technical information and gift planning strategies.
·Knowledge of current pertinent tax laws and other legislation affecting the charitable sector to determine its impact upon gifts from individuals.
·Skill in developing and implementing sophisticated strategies for successful cultivation and solicitation of planned gifts as well as a demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement a variety of complex planned giving programs and activities.
·Demonstrated skill in writing fund raising correspondence, proposals for planned gifts and a variety of marketing materials as needed.
