Live Discussions Help

In addition to using the forms we provide, you may send comments and opinions to:

editor@philanthropy.com

Note: Submitting a question or comment repeatedly will not increase the likelihood of its being posted. Please make each submission only once.

The Chronicle and the guest speaker do not have any way to contact you directly, so please do not ask for an individual or private response.

Browser Information

By default, the discussion page is set to update itself every 60 seconds. This means that you do not need to manually click the reload button in order to see the discussion unfold.

However, if you have an older Web browser (typically version 3 or lower), you may need to click the reload button to see the newest material.

If you do not wish to have the discussion page automatically reload, you may use our static discussion page. It must be manually updated using the reload button.

During a discussion, new material will always be placed at the top of the discussion page to eliminate the need for excessive scrolling. After a discussion ends, a transcript will be posted that relates the dialogue in chronological order.

Other Information

All questions are channeled through a Chronicle editor and the guest speaker prior to posting. A question is not displayed until it has an answer. We cannot guarantee that all questions will be answered, or answered in the order of submission.

Be sure to include your name and affiliation. Legitimate requests for anonymity will be honored.

The Chronicle maintains Live Discussions as an open forum where readers can participate in a discussion. Questions may be condensed or edited for clarity, but editing is kept to a minimum. We attempt to correct errors of spelling, punctuation, etc. In addition, we remove statements that have the potential to be libelous or to slander someone. In cases in which people make claims that could be libelous, we will remove the names of any institutions or departments mentioned. But in those cases, we will not alter the ideas contained in the questions.
