Community Service Takes Center StageThe inauguration of Barack Obama has inspired nonprofit groups from around the country to go to Washington to usher in what they hope will be an era of increased emphasis on community service. To call attention to this idea, the advocacy group ServiceNation led a project to renovate a Washington public elementary school on Martin Luther King Day and invited celebrities and political leaders to join in the effort.
