The Yawkey Foundation, in Dedham, Mass., has given $30-million to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for a new patient-care building, reports The Boston Globe.
The gift, from an organization dedicated to the memory of the longtime owners of the Boston Red Sox, is the second largest in the Boston hospital’s history, the paper reports.
The new Yawkey Center for Cancer Care is scheduled to open in 2011.
