MacArthur Fund Gives $5-Million Public-TV Grant

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, in Chicago, has awarded a $5-million grant to the Public Broadcasting Service’s “Frontline” documentary series, according to a press release.

The grant money will allow the television series to develop online video projects, including one in which new software would be designed to provide enhanced video of programs on the Web.

The grant money will also go toward establishing projects that will encourage audiences to actively participate in discussions related to the series.

Comments

  1. This website is extremely important and benificial to someone looking for foundation News.
But as for me i would rather request you to help me with the actual Foundation Names that can fund community projects and rural area developments.
    Thanks.

  2. I hope this generous support to Frontline will not preclude MacArthur Foundation’s critical and urgent support for independent documentaries that cover many vital subjects and issues Frontline may not cover.

  3. Grant seekers, I’d recommend that you check out http://www.macfound.org for information on applying for grants from the MacArthur Foundation. It’s a more direct way of asking for the help your organization needs.
