From The Chronicle: a Foundation's Changes

Grant-making changes announced this fall by the Public Welfare Foundation raise questions about an approach many foundations are now taking: focusing on just a few causes rather than supporting a wide range of efforts, writes the Chronicle columnist Pablo Eisenberg. Foundations choose the approach in the hopes that their grant making will become more effective, but it often does not work out that way, he says.
