December 29, 2008 Retailers Plan to Continue GivingDespite the economic turmoil, retailers say they have no plans to decrease their giving, and some say they plan to give even more, reports USA Today Although retailers are experiencing double-digit percentage declines in sales, charitable giving is crucial to remaining competitive, experts say. According to a survey by Opinion Research for Cone, 77 percent of 1,070 consumers polled who are deciding between two products priced the same and of similar quality will pick the one that supports a cause.
