Help

Here are some answers to commonly asked questions.

Help for Subscribers

How much does a subscription cost?

The Chronicle of Philanthropy publishes 20 issues a year while updating its Web site daily.  A one-year subscription to our print edition costs $75.00. Subscribers also get access all parts of Philanthropy.com at no extra cost.  See our subscription form for more options and information.

What exactly is a digital edition?

The digital edition is an environmental friendly format that allows you to view an exact replica of the newspaper on your computer.  It works with any common Web browser and you can read everything that was published in the print edition.  And like our print subscribers, you can access all the premium, subscriber-only content at Philanthropy.com.

I'm a subscriber and I can not gain access the premium content at Philanthropy.com.

If you have a Chronicle of Philanthropy account, grab your copy of The Chronicle and go to the Web site to log in.  The log-in link is at the top of every Philanthropy.com Web page.   Once you have logged in, go to http://philanthropy.com/activate and follow the instructions.  Once completed, your user name and password will grant your access to all of the Web site.

If you don't have a Chronicle account, create one.  It's FREE.

Create your account and then follow the instructions above.  You'll need your copy of The Chronicle as the process requirements information from your mailing label.

Mailing label?  I have a digital subscription.  How do I activate my access to The Chronicle's Web site?

Instructions are provided in the e-mail message that delivers your digital Chronicle to you on Fridays.

I can't find my copy of The Chronicle, and I want access now. What do I do?

Write to us at philanthropy@pubservice.com.

I need to talk to someone about my subscription, not my account.

Call us at 1-800-728-2819 or 818-487-4592 if calling from outside the United States.  Tell the operator you want to talk to someone about your subscription.

Help for Account Holders

Why do I need a Chronicle of Philanthropy account?

An account is needed in order to take advantage of our free services.

What free services do you provide?

•  The Chronicle publishes a free e-newsletter, Philanthropy Today.  It provides a concise roundup of all the important news affecting nonprofit leaders and their organizations.

•  Job alerts can be set up so that anytime a job is posted that means your criteria, you are alerted by an e-mail message.

•  You can participate in meaningful forums with colleagues and experts, sharing their experiences and insights with each other.

•  Comment on any Philanthropy news article or blog.  And forward these same items to others via email.

•  And, if you have a subscription, you won't be able to gain access to the premium Web content unless you have an account.
