Fund-Raising Results for Each of the Nation's Big United Ways

United Ways nationwide raised $4.02-billion in their 2008 campaign season, a 5-percent decline from the previous year.

Some 57 percent of the more than 1,200 local United Ways reported a decline in donations last year. Only 34 percent did so in 2007. And the number of United Ways that had an increase dropped to 32 percent last year, down from 55 percent.
