The money will support the Kansas Christian Home, an assisted-living center, in Newton, where Mr. Killion's parents lived; a public-television station associated with Arizona State University, in Tempe; the Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home, in Denver; and Family Time Training, in Littleton, Colo. Ms. Killion died in January and Mr. Killion died in 1998. |

| Pierre Omidyar, the founder and chairman of eBay, and his wife, Pam, the founder of HopeLab, in Palo Alto, Calif., which develops tools to assist chronically ill children, have pledged $50-million to the Hawaii Community Foundation, in Honolulu. The money will be paid over six years and will support various programs. Some of the money will go to the couple's donor-advised fund at the foundation. |

| The Berks Community Foundation, in Reading, Pa., has received a $10-million bequest from Myrtle B. Quier. The money will support programs in animal welfare, the arts, education, and human services, and organizations that help needy women and children. Ms. Quier, who died in 2008, was chairwoman emeritus of the Reading Eagle Company, a newspaper company in Pennsylvania. She was the widow of Hawley Quier, the publisher of the Reading Eagle and Reading TImes newspapers. He died in 1977. |
