Grants of up to $5,000 each from the Mountaineers Foundation to promote the study of the mountains, forests and streams of the Pacific Northwest, and contribute to preserving its natural beauty and ecological integrity. The foundation supports small, short-term projects consistent with those purposes such as studies that will yield new data aimed at protecting Northwest wilderness and wildlife; biological, economic, legal, or policy studies; direct educational programs and materials related to environmental preservation; or lectures, conferences, and seminars. Grants will not support for-profit organizations or regular operating expenses.
