A panel of judges will pick three winners from the following categories: the written pitch/script that best incorporates volunteerism into a TV show; the video pitch/scene that best incorporates volunteerism into a TV show; and the most creative pitch, script, or scene that best incorporates volunteerism—written or video—into a television show.
The panel will judge on the following criteria:
Content: Is the entry engaging and appropriate to the theme of the contest?
Creativity: Does the entry creatively use television characters to illustrate the theme of volunteering?
Execution: Is the video well-made or the text well-written?
Effect: Does the entry entertain the audience while also highlighting the work of volunteers?
The panel currently includes:
Professional photographer and judge on "America's Next Top Model."
Senior program manager of the Craigslist Foundation.
Chief of staff of the Motion Picture Association of America.
President of the consulting company Energize and author on volunteering who has written about TV images of volunteers.
A technology and communications expert who moderates The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s "Social Good" podcasts.
Chief executive officer of See3 Communications.
Actress and board member of Population Services International.
Expert blogger on how nonprofit groups can use social media.
Chief operating officer of AARP
Co-founder of Politics on Film.
President and founder of the Giving Back Fund, which provides philanthropic management and consulting to professional athletes and entertainers.
Executive director of the Nonprofit Technology Network.
Consultant to nonprofit organizations and an Adjunct Professor at Trinity University, Washington.
