Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation and a leader in the emerging field of impact investing, has been named chairwoman of the National Geographic Society’s board of trustees, Fortune writes. She is the first woman to lead the science and education nonprofit’s board in its 128-year history.
Ms. Case is the wife of America Online co-founder Steve Case and a former executive with the media company. She has been a trustee of the Washington, D.C.-based society since 2010. She replaces John Fahey, a former National Geographic chief executive officer who is retiring as chairman of the board.
