A Manhattan court has dismissed a lawsuit brought by Huguette Clark’s estate in a bid to recover more than $4 million the reclusive copper heiress donated to the hospital where she spent her last two decades, The New York Times reports.
Surrogate Court Judge Nora S. Anderson ruled that the statute of limitations has expired for heirs to argue that officials at the then-Beth Israel Medical Center had manipulated Ms. Clark into giving, a charge the hospital denied.
Ms. Clark lived at the New York hospital, now called Mount Sinai Beth Israel following a merger, from 1992 until she died in 2011 at the age of 104, leaving a nine-figure estate that has been the subject of multiple legal wrangles.
