Ruth Perelman, half of one of Philadelphia’s principal philanthropic couples, died of pneumonia Sunday at age 90, The Philadelphia Inquirer writes.
Ms. Perelman and her husband, billionaire businessman Raymond G. Perelman, have supported numerous Philadelphia institutions, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and performing-arts venue the Kimmel Center. In May they donated $225-million to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, which has been named for the couple.
John Anderson, a self-made billionaire who donated big gifts to local institutions, died Friday at age 93, reports the Associated Press.
